Motion Graphic Design

[ Description ]

The China Hustle is a financial crime documentary produced by Magnolia Pictures that exposes large-scale fraud within Chinese companies listed on the U.S. stock market. The film combines investigative journalism, high-stakes finance, and political undertones, creating a tense, urgent tone driven by revelations, data, and credibility. Given the subject matter—market manipulation, investor deception, and systemic risk—the marketing required a visual language that felt sharp, authoritative, and intellectually engaging rather than purely promotional.

I worked on the social media campaign supporting the film’s release, where the core objective was translating complex financial themes into visually compelling motion assets optimized for fast-consumption digital platforms.

My role focused on motion design across campaign deliverables, including animated social cutdowns, kinetic typography sequences, data-driven graphic treatments, title and end-card systems, and modular animation templates designed for multi-format distribution. The motion approach emphasized clarity, rhythm, and editorial precision—using typography, pacing, and graphic transitions to reinforce the documentary’s investigative tone while maintaining strong visual impact within social feeds.
